Description
Legislation and recent lawsuits have made colleges and universities increasingly concerned with accessibility issues. Continuing education programs strive to serve all learners, including those who may require special accommodations to achieve their learning objectives. Universal design principles help build courses that maximize learning by all students. In this presentation we will provide an overview of what universal design is and discuss the rationale for and practical application of universal design to web-enhanced and online courses. We will present strategies for developing accessible documents, presentations and course content. For more information about Universal Design, please visit: http://bit.ly/UMass_UD
